RESTAURANT
[NOSY MAN and ALONE MAN sit in a diner.]

NOSY MAN [walking from his family's table to ALONE MAN's]:
Excuse me.

ALONE MAN:
Yeah?

NOSY MAN:
You need to act more politely.

ALONE MAN:
Excuse me?

NOSY MAN:
Look at you. You eat like a pig.
[NOSY MAN'S son snorts like a pig at his family's table. No one in the busy place stops him.]

ALONE MAN:
I'm just eating.

NOSY MAN:
In an ugly way.
[The son turns a cell phone to max volume. He laughs obnoxiously while making pig sounds.]

ALONE MAN [listening to the son]:
The way your son sounds is ugly.

NOSY MAN [angry]:
Don't insult my son because you can't eat with dignity.

ALONE MAN:
Don't insult my dignity because you can't eat with your son.
[the son's cacophony becomes unavoidable to NOSY MAN.]

NOSY MAN [to the son]:
SHUT UP! NOW!
[The son is quiet at first, silences himself, then laughs at his father louder than anything before.]

NOSY MAN [grabbing his family and leaving the diner, full plates of food untouched]:
You bastard.

[ALONE MAN smiles watching them leave, his plate full of air and his stomach empty.]
